About Me
I am an independent researcher and trainer.
I have a background in art and design (VET diploma), sociology (BA), and cognitive science (MSc), with a focus on studying and designing socio-emotional interactions with AI-based educational technologies. Plus, further education in data science and computational social science: a certificate in data science and analytics (Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning) from the Institute for Analytics and Data Science Summer School (IADS 2021) at the University of Essex, UK, and a certificate from the Summer Institute in Computational Social Science (SICSS Aachen-Graz, 2022). I am currently obtaining the IBM Data Science Professional Certificate and specialisation in Explainable AI (XAI) offered by Duke University.
I am a co-founder and member of a research group on knowledge creation and innovation processes in higher education (OCKO, “Organizing Cognition in Knowing Organizations”, Department of Philosophy, University of Vienna, AT) and the business and innovation centre GIZ-mo.
Since 2014
> self-employed (DE: “Neue Selbständige”) in the field of innovation research and training.
> combining design approaches with social science methodologies (mixed methods) and cognitive science theories, as well as data science (NLP, sentiment analysis, polarisation analysis).
> team leader as well as a project member in interdisciplinary and international (AT, DE, SK, CH, GB) project and research teams in the area of innovation research (private sector).
> research on innovation processes and potentials across various industries:
pharmaceutics, healthcare and geriatrics, real estate, interior and office design, publishing, art, manufacturing technologies, accessible urban design and mobility infrastructures, as well as education and skills/competencies-oriented curricular design.
> Current research and work focus:
human-technology relationships, EdTech & PedTech, AI literacy, instructional design & curriculum development for AI skills in early childhood education.
Since 2017
> working as a trainer (university and business contexts) in the areas of computer-assisted data analysis (qualitative analysis with ATLAS.ti, MAXQDA, QualCoder; quantitative analysis with IBM SPSS Statistics, JASP), and
> innovation methods and prototyping techniques
> lecturer at the University of Vienna (AT), teaching innovation and knowledge creation, as well as statistics for cognitive scientists
Skills & Competencies
Quantitative & qualitative data collection/analysis
> Standardised survey/questionnaire construction and analysis > Descriptive and inferential statistics; explanatory and exploratory approaches > Open/exploratory interviews, observations > Methods: ethnography, grounded theory, hermeneutics, content analysis, discourse analysis, productive methods

Inter-/transdisciplinary
> Integration of social science methodologies, cognitive science theories, data science, and design approaches > Communication between researchers from different areas > Community and stakeholder engagement to "mediate" between participants from academia, industry, and "every-day live"
Mixed methods approaches
> Combination and integration of different empirical methods > "Small-scale" qualitative approaches, "large-scale" or big data analysis, and statistical models "in-between"
Design
> Conception and design in various design-related disciplines > Interface & interaction design > Usability engineering > Experience design > Human/user-centred design (including user/usability studies)

What I Do
I am self-employed and work in the area of innovation research and training. My work comprises project-based/contractual research in business context (private sector), project-based/contractual research in academic contexts, as well as training in both business and academic/university contexts.

What I Offer
I offer project-based and contractual work in two main areas: research and training, both of them in either business or academic contexts, and in either German or English language.
That is, an analysis and report using methods to study what is important to you and give you scientifically-informed knowledge to assist you in your decision-making on "what road to take" in your innovation project or when developing, changing, or re-launching a new product or service. If you are interested to contract me for a research & development projects or to collaborate, have a look at my reference projects to get an idea about what I do.
If you are interested in learning something new, I offer training, workshops, courses, or webinars to bolster your skills and competencies in data-driven, empirical research methods (qualitative, quantitative, mixed, methods, computer-assisted data analysis), innovation and prototyping, as well as AI literacy.
Partners & Associates
In case you require more "human capital" and additional skills, my collaboration partners and I can provide a wide range of complementary services and offers tailored to your specific needs.
We are currently adding our new partners!
At the moments, this section is under construction and may not make much sense to you ;)
Rather than being taken offline, this is a live re-designing of the website. You are welcome to have a look and
watch it being updated. Or you can ignore it and check back in later to see the finished result.
If you do decide to take a look and have questions, ideas, critique, or any kind of feedback, send it to:
